Report: Timberwolves Make Anthony Bennett Available For Trade
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Before exercising their No. 1 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves are making Anthony Bennett -- a former No. 1 pick himself -- available for trade, according to a report from ESPN.
Bennett has had somewhat of a disappointing debut in the NBA so far. Over his two seasons, he averaged just 4.7 points, 0.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game, according to Basketball-Reference.com. He also sat out for large parts of both seasons, due to leg and ankle injuries.
Bennett came to the Timberwolves last summer as part of a three-team deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers that sent Kevin Love to Cleveland and brought Andrew Wiggins to Minnesota along with Thaddeus Young from Philadelphia. Young was traded in February for Kevin Garnett, who started his career with the Timberwolves in 1995.
