Report: This August Was Hottest On Record

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The planet is smashing records this year due to the heat.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says last month was the planet's hottest August on record. This was also the hottest summer for planet earth and the hottest first eight months of the year as well.

Scientists say we're seeing these records because of human-caused climate change and natural El Niño.
