Kevin Stefanski To Return As Vikings' Offensive Coordinator

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Despite being a finalist for an NFL head coaching position, Kevin Stefanski will return as the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings.

On Wednesday, the Vikings announced that Stefanski will be returning to Minnesota, despite him being a finalist for the Browns' head coaching job.

Stefanski took over the role in the latter part of the 2018 season after the offense struggled under former offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.

In a press release, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer described Stefanski as a "smart young coach with a bright future."

"His work ethic and teaching ability have been obvious to me behind the scenes since I came here five years ago," Zimmer added. "He's well respected by coaches and players both and I know he's up to the task."

The up-coming season will be Stefanski's 14th season in Minnesota. He is the longest-tenured coach on the Vikings' staff.
