Report: Amazon Sends Plans To Mpls. Concerning Food Delivery Service

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Another big name is planning on jumping into the Twin Cities grocery market.

The Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal reports Amazon has sent plans to Minneapolis city officials outlining their plans to start a food delivery service.

The online retailer would sell pre-packaged foods and other staples like eggs, milk and bread from a warehouse they just leased on Kasota Avenue.

This comes as Amazon continues to build a massive distribution center in Shakopee.

No word yet on when the food delivery service would become available.
