Report: After 3 Years, Republic In Uptown To Close

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's a sign of how hard it is in the restaurant business: After three years in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood, Republic is closing its doors.

According to a report from Heavy Table, the restaurant's Calhoun Square location will close on Oct. 11. The owners reportedly found out via a letter from Calhoun Square that they would be taking back their space.

The original Republic location near the University of Minnesota campus will remain open.

No word on what business will take over the space.
