Red Lake Women Sentenced For Fatally Stabbing Man With Fork, Knives
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 26-year-old woman was sentenced Wednesday to more than six years in prison for stabbing a man to death with a grill fork and kitchen knives last Fourth of July, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Alison Ann Brown, a member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for one count of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Byron Lussier Sr.
According to court documents, the victim returned to his home on the Red Lake Indian Reservation with two friends on the early morning of July 4, 2013. An inebriated Brown also entered Lussier's home, but against his wishes.
Brown became angry when Lussier demanded that she leave. She picked up two kitchen knives and a BBQ grill fork and stabbed Lussier in the face and torso. He later died from his injuries.
Red Lake Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were partners in the investigation.
