Recovery Effort For U Student Resumes On Mississippi River

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Law enforcement officers have resumed their search for a University of Minnesota student believed to have drowned in the Mississippi River.

Minneapolis police say Jennifer Houle was seen on city-owned surveillance video entering the river from the 10th Avenue bridge early Friday morning. The 22-year-old student was last seen about 1 a.m. leaving Blarney Pub and Grill in the Dinkytown neighborhood.

Hennepin County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Gilbuena says the department's water patrol resumed its recovery effort Tuesday morning. The sheriff's department and other law enforcement agencies have been searching the river around and downstream from the bridge since Sunday.

Students planned a sunset vigil for Houle outside the university's student union Tuesday.
