Reality Check: U.S. Bank Logo On New Vikings Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis is now 65 percent complete, and is scheduled to open next summer. On the future home of the Vikings is one of the biggest NFL stadium logos in the country.

U.S. Bank is reportedly paying the Vikings more than $11 million a year for 20 years to put its brand on the building.

That includes a U.S. Bank logo on the roof 467 feet long -- longer than the 100-yard, 300-foot football field inside.

Another logo is ready for the opposite end on the edge of the Vikings ship's "bow" facing downtown Minneapolis. The roof logo is scheduled for installation in September.

The U.S. Bank logo is one of the biggest in the NFL, but it's not the first. Others include: Ford Field in Detroit, University of Phoenix stadium in Phoenix, and Edward Jones Stadium in St. Louis.

The Vikings play one more year at TCF Bank Stadium before moving into U.S. Bank Stadium for the 2016 NFL season.
