Authorities Searching For Vehicle In Ramsey Park Groping Incident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are looking for a vehicle they believe belongs to a man suspected of groping a teenage girl in an Anoka County park earlier this week.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened Sunday at Emerald Pond Park in Ramsey. The girl told authorities that at about 4 p.m. that day, she was at the playground area when a man touched her inappropriately.

The victim said the man was using a metal detector in the park and initially engaged her after she asked him about the detector and his use of it. The girl told authorities she thinks the man is in his mid-20s, while other people have said he is in his late 30s to early 40s.

People who have seen the man with the metal detector in the area say that he drives a dirty, white Chevy Suburban with two horizontal doors in the rear hatch, as opposed to a lift gate.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 763-427-1212.
