A Rainy, Stormy Week Ahead

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Following a weekend of sunshine and highs in the 80s, the work week is expected to be rainy, with the possibility of severe storms.

Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says the rain will start falling Monday morning, with showers and thunderstorms lingering throughout the day.

He says the risk for severe weather is slight.

"Even though it won't be particularly muggy or humid, looks like we've got enough wind energy in the atmosphere...that it could cause severe weather," Augustyniak said, adding that strong winds and hail are possible in the afternoon and evening.

While Tuesday will bring a slight chance of rain, the next strong chance for precipitation comes on Wednesday.

Looking ahead to Memorial Day weekend, Friday and Saturday are expected to be stormy. Meanwhile, Sunday and Memorial Day (Monday) look nicer.
