Queen's Whisky Up For Bid At Regions Hospital Wine Auction

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Bowmore Whisky is an amazing find for any collector, and two very special bottles will be up for bid for the first time in the U.S. this weekend.

One will be auctioned off here in Minnesota at the River Centre in St. Paul Saturday.

These vintage bottles come directly from Queen Elizabeth's collection in Buckingham Palace. Both are from "The Queen's Cask", which is a barrel of whisky her majesty got from a 1980 visit to the Bowmore Distillery in Scotland.

Since the whisky was bottled in 2002, the Queen has given away three bottles to charity each year.

The money raised from this year's bottles will go to Regions Hospital.

To give you an idea, other bottles of Bowmore Whisky have fetched more than $65,000 at auction!
