Presidential Hopeful Ben Carson Now Leads In Iowa Polls
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- For the first time since Donald Trump threw his name into the mix, he was not sitting at the top of the polls in Iowa.
According to new data from Quinnipiac, Ben Carson has overtaken the lead in that state, which is historically the first state in line for the nominating process for presidential races.
The latest polls show Carson with a 28 percent figure to Trump's 20 percent among likely Iowa Republican Caucus participants. In the last survey, Trump had 27 percent and Carson 21 percent, CBS News reports.
Among the rest of the field, Marco Rubio came in third with 13 percent, followed by Ted Cruz with 10 percent, Rand Paul with 6 percent, and Jeb Bush and Carly Fiorina, both with 5 percent.
The latest survey was taken from polling data collected Oct. 14-20 from 574 likely caucus participants.
