Police: Woman Victim Of Attempted Sexual Assault In Uptown

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis police say a woman was victim of an attempted sexual assault early Sunday morning in the city's Uptown neighborhood.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. near 27th Street West and Humboldt Avenue South.

The report states the woman was approached from behind by an unknown male.

The man began trying to remove some of her clothes but she resisted.

She screamed for others to call 911 and he fled.

According to police, the woman was not injured.

The suspect has been described as a male in his late twenties or early thirties. He is thought to be between 6 foot and 1 inches and 6 foot and 3 inches with a slight build.

Police said he was described as having a light brown complexion and dark hair.

Police said no other incidents like this were reported at this time.
