Police: Woman Killed, Man Arrested In Minneapolis Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police are investigating after a woman was found dead Friday morning.

Police spokesman John Elder says police received a 911 call shortly before 9 a.m. reporting a domestic situation in a residence on the 100 block of Marquette Avenue South.

When officers arrived, they found a woman deceased at the scene and they took a man – who they call a family member – into custody.

Police believe this to be a domestic-related incident and are not looking for anyone else involved in the crime.

The death is being investigated as a homicide.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will be releasing the identity of the deceased, as well as the nature and cause of death.

The man who was arrested has not been identified.
