St. Paul Police: Person Of Interest In Custody In Fatal Stabbing

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – St. Paul police say a person of interest is in custody in connection to the fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old woman late Sunday night.

Police say the incident happened at about 8:38 p.m. on the 300 block of Dale Street N. in St. Paul. When officers arrived, they learned a woman living in an apartment building got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend that moved out into a common hallway in the building. Police say the woman was stabbed at some point.

She was taken to a hospital and went into surgery, but authorities say she was pronounced dead. The victim has not been identified, and police say they are still looking for the alleged suspect, a 42-year-old man.

On Monday afternoon, police said they have the person of interest in custody. The person's identity will be released later.

Police say the incident is under investigation.
