Police: Woman Found In Blanket Died Of Natural Causes

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Police said a woman who was found dead in a wooded area of St. Paul wrapped in a blanket over the weekend died of natural causes.

Authorities were called to a wooded area near the 1400 block of Minnehaha Avenue at about 9 p.m. Saturday on a report of a body found. When officers arrived, they found 39-year-old Rahel Nigusse wrapped in a blanket. Police said her death may not be suspicious, but they are still investigating how she got to where she was found.

John Stanton, 64, had been taken into custody as a person of interest in connection with her death. He was released Tuesday from the Ramsey County Jail and has not been charged.
