Police: Woman, 54, Stabs Husband, Arrested On 2nd Degree Assault

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Shafer woman was arrested Tuesday for stabbing her husband, according to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office.

Shawna Marie Lasiuk, 54, was arrested for second-degree assault and domestic assault.

According to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 10:45 p.m. officers received a call from a woman, later identified as Lasiuk, who said she just killed her husband by stabbing him.

Upon arrival at the Shafer residence, police found 49-year-old Gene Warren Moey with a wound to his cheek. Lasiuk was found inside. A knife was also found at the scene.

Police said a search warrant was executed in order to obtain more evidence.

Moey and Lasiuk were transported to a local hospital. They were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released that night.

Lasiuk was then arrested on assault charges.
