Twin Cities Law Enforcement Celebrates National Police Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As part of National Police Week, the doors at Minneapolis' 4th Precinct were opened to the public.

Members of the community could stop by to see demonstrations from special units. Mayor Betsy Hodges was there, as well as K9 cops and horses.

In another event: Officers who died in the line of duty were honored. The names of fallen officers from Hennepin County were read as part of the memorial ceremony. The governor and police from around the metro area showed their support.

Since 1884, 68 local, state and federal law enforcement officers have died in Hennepin County.
