Police Seeking Sex Offender For Violating Terms Of Release

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are looking for a recently released sex offender who they say is in violation of the terms of his release.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections says Darren Steven Marks, 49, was released from prison on July 8, 2013 on the condition that he check in with his agent twice a month, minimum. Authorities say he hasn't complied with those conditions, and was last seen on July 3, 2015.

Marks was first imprisoned in 1993 for criminal sexual conduct with a woman. He was also found guilty of controlled substance possession and failure to register as a predatory sex offender in later years.

Police say Marks is 5'10" tall and weighs between 193 and 225 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

If spotted, police say not to confront Marks, but instead call 911, or the DOC's 24-hour tip line at 651-603-0026.
