Police Seek Public's Help In Finding Person Who Threw A Rock Onto I-35W

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating the person who they believe tossed a large rock off an overpass in Duluth, injuring one person, Sunday night.

According to police, 22-year-old Matthew Fijalkiewicz, of Superior, Wis., was driving southbound on Interstate 35W near milepost 253 around 11:20 p.m. when a rock came through his windshield and struck him in the chest.

Police said Fijalkiewicz suffered non-life threatening injuries, but his exact condition has not been released.

The police said officers believe the person was in the area of I-35 and the 37th Avenue West overpass or 40th Avenue West overpass around 11:20 p.m.
