Officer Wounded, Man Killed In Oakdale Shooting Incident

OAKDALE, Minn. (WCCO) — An Oakdale resident is dead after an incident with police that also resulted in an officer's injury Thursday morning.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says an officer was shot in the arm during a call at about 8 a.m. on the 2700 block of Granite Avenue North.

Police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension were on the scene executing a search warrant.

Police said they encountered a man during the incident and "a weapon or weapons were used."

Both were taken to Regions Hospital, where the man was pronounced dead. He was not immediately identified. The officer, who was also not identified, has been treated for injuries.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
