Police: Pedestrian Hit, Killed In St. Paul Intersection

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say a 78-year-old man died Wednesday after being hit by a car in St. Paul.

The St. Paul Police Department was called to the scene just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Matilda Street. When officers arrived, they found the man on the ground. He was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police say the vehicle was headed west on Arlington at the time of the accident. The driver remained on the scene and is fully cooperating with police. Authorities say it does not appear drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.

What let up to the accident is under investigation. The man has been identified by authorities as Ker Par of St. Paul.

Police say this is the fourth fatal accident involving a pedestrian in St. Paul this year.
