Police: Mother, 6-Month-Old In Hospital After Mobile Home Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 19-year-old mother and her 6-month-old child are in the hospital after a fire erupted in a mobile home Thursday morning, police said.

According to the city of St. James, Watonwan County Dispatch received a call around 7:37 a.m. Thursday of a mobile home on fire at 50 block of 3rd Avenue North.

Upon arrival the St. James Fire and Police departments found a trailer fully engulfed in flames.

The trailer was sitting at the south end of the lot.

Officials said firefighters were able to rescue Alexis Angel Liemthongsamout, 19, and her 6-month-old daughter Maddyson Murch.

Both were air lifted to Mayo – St. James Hospital.

Officials said the preliminary cause of the fire was ruled electrical.

This incident is currently under investigation.
