Police: Missing Toddler Found Safe In Minnetonka

MINNETONKA, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a toddler went missing in Minnetonka for more than five hours Tuesday night before eventually being located in her mother's vehicle.

Police were called 10761 Smetana Road at about 11:53 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a missing 2-and-a-half year-old girl. When officers arrived, the girl's mother told police she had last been seen at about 7:30 p.m. Officers started going door-to-door looking for the girl with assistance from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

Minnetonka Police said the girl was found at about 1:30 a.m., was safe and inside her mother's vehicle in the garage of an apartment complex. Authorities said the child was not harmed and no criminal activity is suspected.

The incident is under investigation.
