Police: Man Dies In Minneapolis New Year's Day Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Police Department is looking for a suspect after a man shot in the early-morning hours of New Year's Day died of his injuries.

Authorities were called at about 12:37 a.m. Friday to a report of shots fired on the 500 block of 8th Avenue SE. When officers arrived an adult male had been shot and was severely injured.

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries. The victim has not been identified.

The Minneapolis Police Department says it may offer a reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
