1 Arrested After Suspicious Death In Forest Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a woman's body was found in a Forest Lake apartment Friday night and a man has been detained in connection with the incident.

The Forest Lake Police Department was called at about 7:55 p.m. Friday by a landlord to an apartment on the 900 block of 12th St. SW. The landlord was calling about a foul odor coming from the south end of the building.

When officers arrived, they located the suspicious smell and determined it was coming from an apartment on the second floor of the building. Officers made contact with a male and searched the apartment. During the search, they found a woman's body inside the apartment.

Lauren Mason Grove Lynch, 27, was found inside the apartment, and he is being held on probable cause for second-degree murder at the Washington County Jail.

The woman's body was taken to the Washington County Medical Examiner's Office for formal identification and a cause of death.

The Forest Lake Police Department is investigating the incident with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Authorities are investigating the incident as a suspicious death and say that the public is not in any danger.
