Police Investigating Shots Fired Into Albert Lea Residences

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Albert Lea Police Department is investigating after multiple shots were fired into occupied residences.

On Wednesday at 9:08 a.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Gene Avenue on the report of criminal damage to property. Once there, police located multiple bullet holes that went through two separate residences.

Police say that interviews suggest that at 12:30 a.m., suspected fireworks or electrical noises were heard nearby that were not reported to law enforcement. The damage to the resiences

According to police, it's suspected that the noises heard and damage located were the result of shots being fired into a targeted residence, which traveled through to a neighboring residence.

There were no injuries.

Police are calling the incident isolated and are investigating. Attempts are being made to identify a suspect.
