Man fatally shot in Minneapolis' Ventura Village neighborhood
A man was fatally shot in Minneapolis' Ventura Village neighborhood early Monday morning, police said.
The shooting happened on the 1900 block of Elliot Avenue around 1 a.m., according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Responding officers found a 40-year-old man with grave gunshot wounds in the front yard of a home. He died despite medical assistance.
Police are investigating the shooting. No one has been arrested.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man as Darnell Watkins.
