Police Investigate Possible Link Between Restaurant Robberies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two armed men armed men allegedly robbed an Old Country Buffet in Richfield, Minn. around 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

Officials said the two men entered the restaurant, located on East 66th Street, and held numerous employees at gun point.

They were able to leave with a undisclosed amount of money from the restaurant's safe.

Officials said police located one of the suspects upon arrival and were able to take him into custody.

He is currently being held at Hennepin County jail.

Minneapolis police said they are working with Richfield police to see if this latest robbery is connected to a string of restaurant robberies that took place in March.

The Richfield Police Department and the Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force are currently investigating.
