2 security guards shot along Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis overnight
MINNEAPOLIS — Police are investigating an apparent shooting that happened along Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis overnight.
The incident happened at about 4:30 a.m. in front of the Nicollet Diner and Roxy Cabaret along Grant Street.
Officers report that they found two security guards, both men, with apparent non-life threatening gunshot wounds. They were taken to Hennepin Healthcare.
The Minneapolis Police Department forensics team was seen placing evidence markers. Around a dozen other officers were searching for evidence as well.
Investigators say that the shooting apparently happened following an altercation with customers.
Roughly one block was closed off for the investigation.
No one has yet been arrested, and the Minneapolis Police Department is still investigating.
