Police: Drunk Driver Hits 2 Squads During Traffic Stop In Woodbury

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police say two officers in Woodbury had a close call with a suspected drunk driver during a traffic stop Friday morning.

Authorities say the incident happened at about 12:44 a.m. Friday on Interstate 94 and Century Avenue in Woodbury. Officers were conducting a traffic stop when dash camera footage shows a car crashing into both squad cars.

Woodbury police say no officers were hurt in the incident.

The driver was later charged with DWI. A preliminary breath test shows the driver had a .22 blood alcohol level at the time of the crash, which is nearly three times the legal limit for diving in Minnesota. The State Patrol identified the driver Friday night as Christopher Wayne Craig.
