Police: Dispute Ends With 1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police are investigating after an overnight dispute between two groups of people led to a fatal shooting.

Police say 911 calls came into the dispatch center shortly after midnight Monday with reports of gunfire near 34th Avenue North and Morgan Avenue North. When police arrived, a man was found deceased near the intersection.

According to a preliminary investigation, there was a dispute between the occupants of two vehicles and it's believed that some of the occupants of each vehicle got out and exchanged shots at each other.

The two vehicles were gone before officers arrived, but a short time later, police learned that another man was taken to North Memorial with non-life threatening wounds. It's believed the his wounds are related to the shooting incident.

The identity of the deceased man will be released following an autopsy.
