Police Chase Robbery Suspects Across Twin Cities

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- St. Paul authorities say one person is in custody following an armed robbery and police chase across the Twin Cities.

St. Paul Police Cmdr. Eric Anderson said one person remained at large late Wednesday. He says two men robbed a St. Paul Pawn American store at gunpoint before fleeing on a motorcycle. It's unclear what they took.

Police say they ditched the motorcycle after crossing the Lake Street Bridge into Minneapolis. Police arrested one of the suspects as they headed for the Mississippi River.

Anderson says an "assault-style rifle" was recovered near the water.

Officials from both Minneapolis and St. Paul police departments were in the area Wednesday night, as well as University of Minnesota authorities and a State Patrol helicopter.
