Police: BSU Student Hospitalized After Being Found Outside

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minnesota college student has been hospitalized after being found outside in the cold.

Bemidji Police said they were called along with the Bemidji Fire Department at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of an unresponsive female who was found lying in the snow outside a residence on the 1600 block of Calihan Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered the woman unresponsive, but breathing.

According to the Bemidji Pioneer, police have identified the student as 19-yearold Hannah Rolschau of Zimmerman, a second-year education major at Bemidji State University. She was found only a block away from campus.

Police said her clothing was wet and there were indications that she had been lying outside in the snow for a substantial period of time. Officials said that Rolschau is being treated at a hospital in Fargo but no information has been on her condition. Authorities said alcohol may have been a factor in the case, which remains under investigation.

This incident comes one month after a different BSU student, Sandra Lommen of Bloomington, was found dead outside, after leaving a party.
