Police: Brooklyn Center Toddler's Death Was An Accident

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (AP) — Brooklyn Center police say the death of a 14-month-old girl who was run over by her father was an accident.

Officers were called Monday afternoon on a report of a child struck by a car. Police found the girl was dead and had multiple head injuries.

Police say the girl's father was moving a sport utility vehicle from the garage area where he was grilling and did not realize the toddler was near the vehicle.

Police say they do not suspect any crime was committed. The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will release the girl's name when its investigation is complete.

A fund has been set-up to help pay for the girl's funeral. If you'd like to donate, click here.
