Teller Abetted Bank Robbery For Heroin, Police Say
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police say a bank teller helped a former co-worker rob the St. Cloud Wells Fargo in exchange for heroin.
James Lawrence Hagburg, 23, of St. Cloud, is accused of helping Drew Thommes Coldiron, 27, of Minneapolis, steal $23,000 in cash on Tuesday.
Both were charged Friday with a felony count of aiding and abetting theft.
In exchange for heroin, Hagburg told Coldiron about the bank's security procedures and agreed not to identify him as the robber, according to the criminal complaint.
The accomplice is seen on surveillance video with his hand in his sweatshirt pocket handing the teller a note. The note read "Give me all the $ Both Drawers No Alarms No Problems," but police said the robber made no threats and neither showed any weapons nor referenced them.
If convicted, Hagburg and Coldiron face up to ten years behind bars and a $20,000 fine.
