Police Arrest St. Cloud Man For Burglary After Short Pursuit

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in St. Cloud arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of burglary early Monday morning.

Steven John Well, of St. Cloud, is facing charges for first-degree burglary, fleeing a motor vehicle, third-degree DWI, second-degree test refusal, driving after revocation, fleeing police on foot and driving the wrong way on a one way street.

According to police, on Monday morning officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the 200 block of 9th Avenue South. A woman called police stating an unknown male was inside her house.

Upon arrival, police saw the suspect, later identified as Well, fleeing the scene in a car.

Officers followed Well in a pursuit that ended in the 1100 block of 13th Street South. Well then got out of the car and fled on foot.

After a short foot chase, police caught Well and arrested him.

Well is currently being held at the Stearns County Jail awaiting formal charges.
