Police: 2 Fires In Burnsville May Be Related

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Burnsville authorities believe that two fires, set minutes apart, may have been related.

According to the Burnsville Police Department, officers received a call around 10:22 a.m. Friday about a pile of burning leaves on a curb in the Norway Circle area.

Police informed the Burnsville Fire Department and headed to the scene.

Upon arrival, police found the leaves still burning and located burned clothing in the street close by.

Police said officials were then notified at 10:25 a.m. of a possible car fire on the 2300 block of South Skyline Drive.

Upon arrival to that scene, a vehicle was found in front of a residence on the street.

Police said two victims were found on the scene. They are believed to be the car's driver and passenger.

The two victims were treated by paramedics and taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for burns and non-life threatening injuries.

Police and fire officials believe the two fires were connected and possibly drug related.
