Police: 2 Detained After Homemade Explosive Found In Western Wis.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people have been detained after a homemade explosive device was discovered behind a western Wisconsin business early Tuesday morning, according to police.

The Roberts Police Department says at 1:56 a.m. a police officer noticed a suspicious vehicle behind the Frito-Lay building located at 203 Packer Drive in Roberts, Wisconsin.

A homemade explosive device was found soon after and a bomb squad from Marathon County was called in.

It is unclear if the explosive was found inside the vehicle or somewhere else on the property. A car was towed away around late Tuesday morning.

A secured perimeter was placed around several businesses and part of Highway 12. As of noon, it appears employees at Frito-Lay and surrounding businesses are free to return to work.

The identities of the detained have not been released. More information is expected from police later Tuesday.
