Police: 15K Reward For Info In Deadly Hopkins Hit & Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A reward for information in the October hit-and-run death of a 75-year-old woman in Hopkins has increased as authorities continue to search for the driver responsible.

The Hopkins Police Department says the reward has increased to $15,000 with the help of a private donor in the hit-and-run death of Dolores Jeanne Stafford. She was hit by a dark-colored SUV on the morning of Oct. 28 on Main Street and 17th Avenue. The driver did not stop.

The incident happened close to where Stafford shared a home with her husband of 33 years. Stafford told her husband after the incident she had the green light before she was hit on Oct. 28. Her condition quickly deteriorated, and she died from her injuries a day later.

Jeanne was about to catch a bus to her weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in downtown Minneapolis that morning. She'd been sober for more than 40 years but kept going to inspire others.

Hopkins police say they have received additional information that the suspect vehicle had dark-colored wheels and a sticker in the rear window.

Anyone with information should contact the Hopkins Police Department.
