Police: 12 Garage Burglaries Last Week In SW Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police are warning residents, especially those in the southwest corner of the city, to lock up their garages after 12 burglaries were reported last week.

Police say 11 of the 12 garages were either left open or had an unlocked service door.

Residents lost bicycles, tools, money from unlocked vehicles and other items to thieves.

Police suggest locking all doors and windows and recording the make/model/serial numbers on all valuables – especially bicycles.

Also, don't leave money or valuables inside vehicles.
