Police: 1 Person Assaulted By 4 Men Near U Of M Campus

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis police are searching for four men who allegedly assaulted an individual near the University of Minnesota campus Tuesday evening.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, shortly before midnight officers responded to a report of an aggravated assault on the corner of Cedar Avenue South and 3rd Street South.

Upon arrival, police learned the victim was walking southbound on Cedar Avenue when a group of four men began talking to the victim from across the street. The men crossed Cedar Avenue and assaulted the victim.

The victim required medical attention for the injuries suffered in the assault. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

The victim was not affiliated with the University of Minnesota.
