Police: 1 Arrested, 1 Sought After Man Stabbed Over Parking

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One man has been arrested and another remains at large after a stabbing over public parking in Albert Lea Friday, according to police.

Albert Lea police say officers responded to a fight at 1206 St. Joseph Ave. and when they arrived, a 29-year-old man was found suffering from a non-life threatening knife wound.

Police say that 23-year-old Adam Haas was engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim and several others over parking. He later left and returned to the scene with 39-year-old Erik Hernandez. Police say Hernandez approached the victim and escalated the situation from verbal to physical when he stabbed the victim once in the back.

The suspects then fled before police arrived.

On Saturday, Haas was arrested on 933 Jefferson Ave. for aiding and abetting second-degree assault.

A warrant was issued Wednesday for the arrest of Hernandez for second-degree assault. Anyone with information on his location is asked to contact Albert Lea police.
