Police: 1 Arrested, 1 At Large After St. Cloud Assault

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – One man was arrested and another is at large after they allegedly assaulted a man and struck him with a vehicle Monday night in St. Cloud, according to police.

Authorities were called at about 8:43 p.m. to the 100 block of 23rd Avenue North on a report that a person was hit by a vehicle. When officers arrived, an investigation determined a 36-year-old St. Cloud man had been assaulted by two men during a physical altercation.

After the altercation, police said the two suspects got into their car and the driver hit the victim before fleeing the area. Police identified the suspects as 23-year-old Michael Jay Flavin and 30-year-old Orlando Michael Walker, both of St. Cloud. Authorities said Walker was driving the car when it hit the victim.

The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, police located the suspect vehicle and the suspected driver, Walker, on the 1000 block of 14th Avenue SE. He was taken into custody without incident and was booked in the Stearns County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault and felony leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision.

Police said Flavin has not been located and is wanted for questioning in connection with the incident. Anyone with information should call the St. Cloud Police Department at (320) 251-1200. The incident is under investigation.
