Planned Parenthood President To Visit Fargo Fundraiser

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Officials with a regional Planned Parenthood chapter say a planned visit to Fargo by the group's national president should be good for money and morale.

Cecile Richards is scheduled to speak Thursday at an annual fundraiser and visit with staff at a clinic in neighboring Moorhead, Minnesota.

Jen Aulwes, spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota, says the event raises money for advocacy and education.

Aulwes says staff members and volunteers are eager to hear from Richards, whose visit comes one week after a deadly shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Aulwes would not talk about security measures for Richards' visit, but said it's not uncommon to have protection in place for Planned Parenthood events.
