Pillsbury Doughboy Turns 50

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The little kitchen helper who cannot help but be poked is celebrating a big birthday Thursday.

It may be hard to believe, but the Pillsbury Doughboy is now 50 years old.

"Poppin' Fresh" was created by an ad agency in 1965. His voice has changed a bit, but his look is still the same.

And here are some fun facts about the doughboy: He is officially 8-and-3/4-inches tall (with his hat).

Also, he is married to "Poppie Fresh," and they have two children: a son named "Popper Fresh," and a daughter named "Bun-Bun."
