Phone Bank Raises $26K+ For Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Throughout the holiday season, WCCO-TV is highlighting groups throughout the Twin Cities that help others, and need your help to do that.

Last week, more than $14,000 was raised in a phone bank for the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Funds will go towards ovarian cancer research. In addition to the phone bank, more than $2,000 raised in other donations.

This week, WCCO-TV is teaming up with the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. It's an organization for people who are fighting for their lives. It's not a hospital, but rather it offers healing for those battling drug and alcohol addictions.

Officials said right now, they have about 500 people living in dorm rooms. The cost they have to cover is about $1,500 per person, and most of their clients don't pay anything thanks to people who donate.

In Tuesday's phone bank, $26,808 was donated for the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. And if you missed the phone bank, it's not too late to donate to the cause. You can donate online through Thursday.
