Police: 2 Men Shot In South Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two men are hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a shooting in south Minneapolis Friday night.

Police say they were first alerted by their ShotSpotter system just after 7 p.m., which pinged it to the 2600 block of Cedar Avenue in the Phillips neighborhood.

Investigators say an altercation on a sidewalk preceded the shooting. Both victims were in surgery Friday night at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Police say they have not made any arrests yet, and are still interviewing witnesses.

Six people were shot three weeks ago about a block away from Friday night's crime scene.
