A Trust Fund For Your Pets?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesotans may soon be able to make sure their pets are taken care of well into the future.

Minnesota lawmakers are considering a bill that would let people create a trust fund for their pets.

The money would be used to care for them if their owner becomes incapacitated, cannot care for them or passes away.

Once the pet dies, any leftover money would go to the owner's heirs.

Minnesota is one of the only states in the country that does not have any laws regulating a trust fund for pets.
