Pedestrian Killed In Fridley After Lying On Roadway

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in the north metro say a 46-year-old man was killed Saturday night after he was hit by a car while lying in the road.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office and the State Patrol say the incident happened around 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of University Avenue and 83rd Avenue Northeast in Fridley.

Steven Domino, of Ham Lake, was struck while in the southbound lanes of University Avenue.

He died at the scene.

The driver of the car, identified as 34-year-old Sara Vanengen of Anoka, is cooperating with authorities.

She suffered no injuries in the incident but was brought to a hospital for evaluation.

The incident remains under investigation.
